One of the nicest workshops ever (so far)

The workshop on approximation and optimization in image restoration and reconstruction held in Porquerolles on 8-12 June 2009. Nice water, impressive talks, especially by Ron DeVore (abstract) or Gabor T. Herman (abstract). But too bad a guy on TV only deserves an asshole entry.

  1. Thanks for the report Laurent ;-)

Another participant told me it was a very nice workshop too. I should have gone there... Workshops are often much better than conferences for deep discussions.

    Best,
    Laurent

  2. Indeed. Lunch time and leisure (beach) were as well time to discuss with everyone. A fifty head workshop alone can make it happen. Reminds me of DCC 2000... I woud advocate a tiny workshop every two conference.
